IBM provides a tool to quickly get your iSeries 400 up and running on
the Internet with its downloadable Internet Setup Wizard. The wizard
guides you through any of the following three common scenarios:
- Connecting your iSeries 400 as a Web and application server behind
a firewall and allowing access to it from the Internet.
- Connecting your iSeries 400 as a Web and application server to a
DMZ outside a firewall and allowing access to it from the Internet.
- Directly connecting your iSeries 400 to the Internet through a
dial-up connection.
You can download the Java-based wizard from
http://www.iseries.ibm.com/tcpip/iwizard.htm .
It's a big download of
about 15 MB. The three scenarios require HTTP Server to be installed,
as well as OS/400 at V4R4 and above. The first and second scenarios
also require WebSphere to be installed.
